About this Blog

Conservative opinion and political analysis.

I’m Kelly or @KLSouth on Twitter, that 140 character-limit social media that forces rants and diatribes into witty one-liners and good tag lines. Specifically, it increases the substance to character ratio, which makes Twitter, well, Twitter. That’s the problem. If I’m on a Twitter roll, I don’t want to speak in SMS jargon. So I’ll say it here.

By trade, I’m not an editor, blogger or journalist. And, I have no desire to be one nor recognition as one. But, I write stuff. Some meaningful. Some sarcastic. Some people will read it. Some will miss out. This blog is an expanded gateway to a larger discussion beyond Twitters 140 characters. Thus, the title… “Furthermore.”

Chicago native, sports enthusiast, Investment Banker, Calvin Coolidge conservative… I’ve been a season ticket holder of conservative politics since high school or age 16. My Mini-Self Portrait spans 25 years of business and executive management, strategy consulting and investment banking. I’m a free-market capitalist, limited government conservative and a strict Constitutionalists.

In between career assignments, I waltzed my way into a Fellowship at the US Senate. Because of my acumen of the inter-workings of Congress; the legislative process, Capitol Hill and the gamesmanship of K Street, I feel I bring a unique insight to any political discussion.

Because my compass is always wired, my curiosity meter is always pegged. I don’t donate to cognitive dissonance volleys of hyperbole. Instead, I’m motivated in exposing the truth of the cowards. I chose principle over prestige, morality over popularity and the hard working fella over heartless bureaucrats. I boycott phonies who hold others to a higher standard than themselves.

In short, I’m fighting to disenfranchise the ignorant.

From Politics to Media Bias to Chicago Sports, I love comical warfare. I’m an irony junkie. And, there is way too much fodder out there. I only hope, on occasion, my writings are distinctive and memorable. I’m living and dying with the Cubs…. and the Bears.

I’m looking for others just like you. Together we can unite people and reclaim our country from the collectivists. We can do this by creating and connecting others in this community seeking the same broad objectives you have described above.

    Good to know you.

Glad to see another former Washington, DC Insider telling it like it is — I don’t feel so alone anymore!

And I’m @shannanclan who have been learning from your business-side with gratitude. i’m a catholic living as a contemplative monk, wondering, as i was the son of a member of parliament (as well as reagan’s nephew), just how much of the world i should hold on to, at least in my prayers (its the tongue i’ve got to watch!)…

I used this type of economic analysis to help small business owners understand who to better run their companies. Keep up the good work.
