About this Blog

Politics. Economics. Media. Sports… Put into context.

I’m Kelly or @KLSouth on Twitter, that 140 character-limit social media that forces rants and diatribes. Specifically, it increases the substance to character ratio, which makes Twitter, well, Twitter. That’s the problem. If I can’t get my message across in SMS jargon. I’ll say it here. Thus, the title… “Furthermore.”

My bloodline is of Southern ancestry. I was reared under southern heritage, yet Chicago born. Half my life has been spent in the south. It’s hospitality and charm, is central to who I am. But it is the privilege and mark of distinction of being “American” that I am most thankful for.

Calvin Coolidge conservative. I’ve been a season-ticket holder of conservative politics since age 14; free-market capitalist, limited government, strict Constitutionalist. Born upon incredible founding principles; the US Constitution limits Government, not the people. Truth and logic is my Trinity – and I’ll defend my positions without apology.

By trade, I’m not an editor, blogger or journalist. Nor do I care to be. But, I write stuff. Some meaningful. Some not. Sports enthusiast, Business owner, Corporate Finance Advisory. My mini-self portrait spans 25 years of Business Strategy &  Consulting, Finance, Capital Markets, and Mergers & Acquisitions.

In between career assignments, I waltzed my way into a Fellowship at the US Senate. With insight into the inter-workings of Congress; legislative process, and K-Street, I understand the distinction between policy & jurisprudence and politics & dishonesty. Exposing it, is part of my life’s rich pageantry.

I choose principle over prestige, morality over popularity, and the hard working fella over the heartless bureaucrat. I boycott phonies who hold others to a higher standard than themselves. I despise hypocrisy from either party or person. And, I’m motivated in exposing the truth of the coward. You should be too.

I am always amazed at the grace of God.

I’m looking for others just like you. Together we can unite people and reclaim our country from the collectivists. We can do this by creating and connecting others in this community seeking the same broad objectives you have described above.

    Good to know you.

Glad to see another former Washington, DC Insider telling it like it is — I don’t feel so alone anymore!

And I’m @shannanclan who have been learning from your business-side with gratitude. i’m a catholic living as a contemplative monk, wondering, as i was the son of a member of parliament (as well as reagan’s nephew), just how much of the world i should hold on to, at least in my prayers (its the tongue i’ve got to watch!)…

I used this type of economic analysis to help small business owners understand who to better run their companies. Keep up the good work.

Great site. Found you on Twitter through a recommendation. Sorry. Love your website. Thankj you so much. I’m going to place a link to your site at my blogging site, http://www.1600watch.com if thast’s OK. Please check out 1600 Watch and if you are uncomfortable with my positions, I’ll remove the link. I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, so to speak.

Somewhat similar to your own position, I’m a licensed Professional Civil Engineer, licensed General Contractor, licensed truck driver (Class A CDL) and am just a dad completely fed up with the Globalist run, socialist disaster we call Washington D.C. I have additional major in Biology and English, like to write and became a part time blogger.

I quit blogging occasionally due to anger and frustration. I prefer to be positive and solution oriented rather than spread divisiveness, though I fail to remain calm a good deal of the time.

Anyway. Great website. Thank you so much.

Great to find you in Twitter after all these years from when you were in DC. Your posts are terrific. Been in the Philly area for about 12 years, toiling in the food industry, but my government affairs gig sends me to DC a lot. Hope you’re well. Keep up the good work.

Kelly! I didn’t even realize that it was your article that I was reading on the Rubio deception. Thank you! Write more!! 🙂
It is inspiring. I bet a lot of us twitter hard-cores that have found each other have some sort of orbital background in politics. As for myself, I used to intern for old B-1 Bob Dornan in college when southern CA still had some seriously conservative enclaves left in it!

Again, thank you for the Rubio piece(s) I am more informed from reading that one article (out-loud, to my family, with colorful expletives tossed in for effect, no offense to your good article) than after the past 2 years of trying to piece together why my SKIN crawls when I hear him. I hope the twitter team does not splinter & fracture as a conservative unit while the GOP packs the clown car…so far, I am as disillusioned as ever.

Doesn’t everyone want to feel that excitement that we felt on election night 1984 as the network’s map lit up red all across the country!!! Shoot, I remember being 5 years old cheering & jumping up and down with my family when Reagan won in ’79. We are so close to losing it FOREVER. Sometimes the only time that I feel any hope that it isn’t already gone is when I am on twitter. And you are among my top faves that I look for daily 🙂

    Best,
Cynthia (from the best little shuttle service ’round Disneyland, Anaheim)

Ha Ha.. Sorry about the expletives, and thank you for your kind words, Cynthia!!!! More than anything, it is an informative piece. And, all of us need to stay informed. Stay blessed, and thank you again.
